it’s me, hi

It’s Marny. Your master esthetician and tattoo artist!

Growing up, I was the extremely shy kid who had a hard time getting out there and making friends. So let’s just say that everything I’ve done up to this moment has been EXTREMELY out of my comfort zone, but I’ve loved every minute.

I’m 28 years old, slowly but surely creeping up to my 30s. Born and raised in the Salt Lake area. I’m aggressively single but enjoying it - dating in Utah is… something else. I’m a dog person, a major Swiftie, a Disney Adult (I promise not in the cringey way), and still an introvert (INFJ-T for those that know). I love almost any kind of music and have had nothing but compliments on my studio playlist. Lastly, I love Coca-Cola (from McDonalds), true crime, nights in, summer and fall, and Texas Roadhouse.

I currently work as an Operations Systems Manager at a local small business and have somehow been there for 9 years. While tattooing is an evening gig for me now, I absolutely plan to go full-time once I have someone to provide me with health insurance.

I have been and will continue to be an advocate for mental health care and suicide prevention. I’ve struggled with anxiety, depression, and a mood disorder all my life, and I believe that everyone should have access to the care they need and the care that saved my life.

I look forward to meeting so many of you over the coming years! Thank you for the support and love.

about INVERSION

I started Inversion Aesthetics back in 2019 out of my parents' basement. Of course, at that time I had just graduated from NIMA (National Institute of Medical Aesthetics) and was only working on some friends and family. All throughout school, I had thought I would go into working with lasers, and somehow, I found myself working on building my own practice. 2020 rolls around, and, like the rest of the world, COVID halted any progress I had made—until the end of the year. Late 2020, my friend and I found an unbelievable deal on a studio space and things started falling into place. We moved in, and I was offering aesthetic services out of a dentist office’s basement.

Then comes 2021. I officially opened for business, then made the leap and signed up for a “tiny tattoo course” (please don’t do this; myself and so many others fell for these scams and learned the hard way). Not too long after, in February 2021, I began tattooing! At the time, I was going by Fine Line INK.—yes, the name was highly influenced by Harry Styles. I moved into my current studio—still in the basement of a dentist office—in 2022. I absolutely loved pouring my style and my dreams into the space I created, and I have to give a HUGE shoutout to my dad for being the handyman to make my vision come to life.

January 1st, 2023: Inversion Aesthetics & Tattoo was born! My journey has been rough, but absolutely worth the ride. Every day I learn something new. I work to be better at my crafts and to create a welcoming, relaxing, and happy space for everyone to enjoy. I absolutely could not do it without the support of family, friends, and all the amazing people I’ve met along the way.
